How to Scrape Kijiji Listings: Cars, Rentals and Classifieds to a Spreadsheet

Short answer: copy a Kijiji.ca search URL from your browser, paste it into the Kijiji Scraper, set how many result pages to follow, and download every listing as Excel, CSV or JSON. Kijiji is Canada's biggest classifieds site for used cars, rentals, furniture, electronics and local services. What data can you get from Kijiji?

Every listing includes:

• Listing: Kijiji ID, title, full description, ad URL, ad type (top ad, showcase or standard), and when it was activated.
• Price: price type (fixed, please contact, free) and surcharges such as "plus GST".
• Location: city, street address, latitude and longitude.
• Seller: whether it is a dealer or private seller, the poster ID, promotion flags, and a phone number where the ad reveals one.
• Media: all photo URLs, plus the search URL that surfaced the listing.

And for vehicles, the fields that make Kijiji Autos data genuinely useful: make, model, year, trim, mileage in km, transmission, fuel type, drivetrain, body type, colour, condition, seats, doors, VIN, the Carfax link, and 20+ yes/no feature flags such as air conditioning, alloy wheels, Bluetooth and sunroof, each as its own column.

Why is Kijiji hard to scrape yourself?

• Phone numbers are hidden behind a reveal step on each ad, so a search page scrape never includes them.
• The vehicle details live on each ad page, not in search results, so you need one extra request per listing.
• Kijiji rate-limits and blocks repeated requests, and some content depends on a Canadian IP address.
• Pagination and promoted ads mean the same top ads repeat across pages and have to be de-duplicated.

Is it legal to scrape Kijiji?

The actor reads publicly visible listings and does not log in. Listing data such as prices, specs and locations is generally fine to collect for analysis. Private sellers' names and phone numbers are personal information under PIPEDA, so collect them only for a legitimate purpose, and remember that Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) and the National Do Not Call List apply to unsolicited messages and telemarketing calls. Do not republish listings or photos. Kijiji is named only to describe what the actor reads; the tool is independent of Kijiji.
